NFO NEWS

Membership in the NFO entitles to you a subscription to the NFO-News which will provide you with valuable information in the following general areas of interest:

 

• • Ethnic dance workshops, camps and tours

• • News about NFO members and performing groups

• • Recreational folk dancing information

• • New Resources such as books, DVDs, CDs and other items of interest 

• • News about C.I.O.F.F. (the Conseil International des Organisations de Festivals de Folklore et d’Arts Traditionnels), including international meetings and CIOFF’s search for North American groups to participate in international festivals. 

• • Reports from annual NFO and CIOFF conferences

• • North American International Festival information 

• • Interesting articles submitted by members featuring topics such as current research on folk dance and music throughout the world, dance and education and much more.

As a member you are also encouraged to submit items of interest.

Submit News / Events or Advertise in NFO NEWS
Do you have some interesting news or information about your community, your event, or some aspect of folk/world dance or culture that would make interesting reading in the NFO-News?

 

• • If you’ve done some traveling that involved folk dance, music, art, etc., consider writing something to share in the News.

• • If you’ve read a dance-related book, seen a video, or visited a website that you think others would enjoy, please submit that information.

• • If you are or were involved with a workshop, festival, performance, or the like, consider either a short article or an advertisement.

• • If you’ve been taking photos at dance events, consider forwarding them for inclusion.

Written submissions should be 750 words or less, and will be subject to editing for space, style, and content. If you have an article that is significantly longer than 750 words, please contact the NFO Editor to discuss.
