Madison Folk Ball 2025!

Folk Ball – is an international folk dance and music event held every January or February at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. This year we are holding the Folk Ball on January 24 – 26, 2025.

A Madison, WI tradition, the Folk Ball features great workshops with Michael Ginsburg and legendary parties with multiple great bands!

Madison Folk Ball is happening this coming January 2025! Come join the fun with events on Friday and Saturday. There will be two full evening dance parties on Friday and Saturday featuring dancer favorites Orchestar Bez Ime, Blato Zlato, Sloboda, Szaszka, Yid Vicious, and more (see band list below).
Balkan dance workshops will be held Saturday morning and afternoon featuring local and regional teachers. Also on tap Saturday is a lunchtime culture session, an afternoon Balkan singing workshop, an afternoon Hungarian Táncház with Szaszka, and an early evening dinner option with live music.

Memorial Union is located on the south shore of Lake Mendota on the campus of the University of Wisconsin – Madison. On the lakeshore to the north of the building is the Terrace, a popular outdoor space overlooking the lake. It has gained a reputation as one of the most beautiful student centers on a university campus.
