1071 Edgemoor Road, Clinton, TN, March 7-8, 2025.Daniela Ivanova-Nyberg, Ph.D. is an accomplished, professional folk dance teacher, choreographer and researcher of Bulgarian dance in Bulgaria and in the United States.She was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria and began dancing at age 4, learning traditional dances from her grandmother, a native from the Shop region. At age 12 Daniela began touring Europe as a member of Rosna Kitka Children’s Folk Dance Ensemble. Daniela later became a full-time teacher in choreography, ethnography and philosophy and worked as a lecturer in cultural anthropology at St. Kliment Ohridski Sofia University, She was a lecturer in dance folklore at New Bulgarian University and in ethnography at The Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. As a dancer, choreographer, dance teacher, field researcher and scholar she has traveled repeatedly to France, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, former Yugoslavia, Malta, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Mongolia, Ireland, and more.Since 2003 Daniela has taught in more than 40 states (over 400 workshops). She has taught at various dance camps: Stockton, California (2008, 2005), Mainewoods Folk Dance Camp (2008), Arcata International Folk Dance Festival (2012, 2010, 2006), Florida Folk Dance Camp (2007), San Antonio Folk Dance Camp (2007), Chicago Spring Festival (2006, 2007), Buffalo on the Danube: Labor Day International Music and Dance Weekend (2009) and Balkanalia Music and Dance Camp, Oregon (2011, 2010, 2009); she has also been a visiting lecturer at The University of Washington (2015-), visiting choreographer at Western Washington University 2011-) and lecturer at Brigham Young University’s dance department (2012, 2016. Currently Daniela serves as the artistic director of the Bulgarian Cultural and Heritage Center of Seattle.There will be an optional, ethnic, vegetarian-friendly, lunch, prepared by Fay Campbell, on Saturday at the Community Center. The cost is $10.00. Fay has been entertaining family and friends with her culinary delights for years. Originally from the Boston/NY/NJ area, this re-potted Yankee is deeply into organic gardening and creative cooking and catering for private parties.

Location and Directions: The Claxton Community Center – 1071 Edgemoor Road, Clinton TN 37716.
(Note – this is the new location for our workshop since 2024) is a red brick building with four white pillars, that sits well back off Edgemoor Road. It is about 0.5 mile east of the Bull Run Steam Plant and across the street and just west of a Marathon Gas and Food Shop
The driveway is between a faded red and white Breadbox sign and a sign for the Claxton Square Dancers and Oak Ridge Folk Dancers. Head toward the playground and continue along this long, paved driveway as it loops around behind the Community Center and ends in the parking lot in front of the building.
Cost: $70 before 2/24, $80 after, payable to Oak Ridge Folk Dancers Session costs: $25 for each teaching session and $10 for Saturday evening
