The international festivals listed below represent a network of folk dance festivals in the United States and a few elsewhere in the world. Each festival invites performance groups from throughout the world that represent their traditional music, dance, and culture. There are also many quality folk festivals existing in other countries which can be accessed through the C.I.O.F.F. organization. (Enter “dance” to search there.)

The following festivals are listed in order of calendar date. Most festivals are annual so if the date you see is past, assume that the following year it will be at approximately the same time and check their website.

By definition, festivals are less participatory and more performance-oriented. See Workshops and Camps
